I am a 5th year graduate student with David Ackerly at Berkeley, and I am serving as the TA for the Berkeley portion of this DGS. In my research I use plant functional traits to test different hypotheses of community assembly in the Yasuni Forest Dynamics plot, a 50 hectare plot of mature Amazonian rainforest in Ecuador. I also am interested in the application of phylogenetic methods to community ecology.
