I am an assistant professor at University of California at Irvine. I am interested in plant community and ecosystem dynamics in response to environmental change, and particularly in the application of threshold and alternative state models and functional trait approaches. I work in Colorado (alpine tundra, Niwot Ridge LTER), Southern California (grassland, coastal sage scrub) and Northern California (rangeland, oak savannas).
