Ni 2003, J of Arid Env, basic plant functional types along precip gradient in China by Jordan Okie — last modified 2008-05-23 22:26
The number of C3 plant species and grass species increases with increasing mean annual precipitation in temperate grasslands of China, where as the number of shrub species decreases with mean annual precipitation
sandra et al 1998 JVS_plant funcitonal traits and environmental filters at a regional scale.pdf by Jordan Okie — last modified 2008-05-23 22:28
Along a climactic gradient, Sandra et al. (1998) find that a filtering effect of climate factors, including precipitation, on plant functional traits. SLA, lifespan, and canopy heights were some of the traits showing the largest differences along the gradient.

Traits studied are LMA, leaf lifespan, nitrogen composition, and photosynthetic capacity.
