Tree created using Davies et al. dataset via the Phylomatic website (http://www.phylodiversity.net/phylomatic/phylomatic.html). This data has its limitations, but for our purposes of creating taxonomic groups at higher levels, the data seem adequate. The number of taxonomic groups (10) was chosen to match the number of functional groups. Groups 5 and 6 are Bataceae and Plumbaginaceae, respectively (not called by their respective species names as shown).
